I returned this shoe three times. My true size, a 6.5, was baby small. I ordered the 7. There was no discernible difference in size between the 6.5 and the 7. I finally found a 7.5 and bought that and have never worn that size in my life. I had the same experience with the suede loafers, I had to get a 7.5 as the 7 looked like a baby would wear it. In the correct (larger) size, the Hampton mule is a gorgeous shoe, very comfortable and a bit quirky. It was worth all the back-and-forth!
